Modero vs ForgeOS: The Modern ForgeOS Alternative

Modero and ForgeOS are both built for technology advisors, and they take different routes there. ForgeOS describes itself as a Technology Intelligence Platform and leads with commission recovery, sold through contact rather than a published price. Modero is self-serve software: a free CRM for unlimited users, commission management from $199 a month, and every price on the site before you speak to anyone. This page sets out the differences as fairly as we can, including where ForgeOS is the stronger choice.

Pick ForgeOS if

  • Commission recovery is the whole problem you are solving right now
  • You want a team working alongside yours, not software you operate
  • You serve end-user customers as well as advising, and want both in one place

Pick Modero if

  • You want to start free today and see the price before you commit
  • You would rather run the software yourself than buy a service
  • You want the CRM, commissions, and projects to be one system

Side by side

Everything in the ForgeOS column comes from their own website as of August 2026. Where a fact is not published, the table says so rather than guessing. Verify any of it at forgeos.co.

One row deserves a note. ForgeOS does not publish a price, and we are not going to invent one. Their site has no pricing page, so the only way to learn the number is to ask them. That is a legitimate way to sell software, and it is the opposite of how we sell ours.

Where ForgeOS is genuinely strong

Commission recovery is their centre of gravity, and they are specific about it in a way most vendors are not. ForgeOS reports that it has found missing commissions for 100% of Technology Advisors, that 97% commission issues proactively identified, and that it has processed 500K+ invoices processed through ForgeOS integrated supplier, Ten4. Those are their figures rather than ours and we cannot independently verify them, but publishing numbers that specific is not something a vendor does casually.

They also came out of an operating technology advisory rather than a software company, which usually shows in the details of a product like this. And their named customers describe a working relationship rather than a licence: a team that follows up, oversees installations, and standardises statement data coming in from different TSDs and carriers in different formats. If what you want is people plus a platform, that is a real offer and it is not what Modero sells.

Where Modero is structurally different

The differences are business-model choices rather than feature claims. The CRM is free forever for unlimited users. Every price is public and set by the client accounts you manage. You can sign up and be working without a conversation. We hold no supplier relationship of our own, so there is no second interest in the room when you evaluate a deal.

The sharpest difference is who each product is for. ForgeOS serves technology advisors and end-user customers from the same platform, to the point that its login asks which one you are before it will let you in. Modero serves one side of that relationship. Everything in it, from how a company record holds sites and suppliers to how a closed deal becomes a commission expectation, assumes you are the advisor rather than the client. That is a narrower product on purpose.

Free forever. No credit card required. No demo call.

Modero vs ForgeOS: common questions

What does ForgeOS cost?

ForgeOS does not publish a price. There is no pricing page on their site, so the only way to find out is to contact them. We are not going to estimate a figure on their behalf.

Modero takes the opposite approach. Every price is on the pricing page, including a calculator, so you can work out what it costs before you speak to anyone. The CRM is free for unlimited users.

What is the main difference between ForgeOS and Modero?

Who each one is built for, and how each one is sold. ForgeOS serves technology advisors and end-user customers from the same platform, and it is sold as a platform plus an ongoing service relationship. Modero serves advisors only, and it is software you run yourself, with a free tier and public pricing so you can evaluate it before speaking to anyone. Neither approach is wrong. They suit different buyers, and an agency that wants a team working alongside it will be better served by the service-led option.

Is ForgeOS a CRM?

ForgeOS positions itself as a Technology Intelligence Platform rather than a CRM. Its published emphasis is on standardising customer, location, service, and spend data, recovering missing commissions, and reporting on the result. Modero starts from the CRM: a pipeline, company records holding multiple sites and services, and deals that carry supplier and monthly recurring revenue as real fields, with commission tracking built on top of that foundation. If the CRM is the piece you are missing, that is a meaningful difference. Check their current site for what they offer today.

Can I try Modero without leaving ForgeOS?

Yes, and it is the sensible way to evaluate it. The Modero CRM is free for unlimited users and imports contacts and deals from a CSV, so you can stand up your book alongside whatever you use now and compare on your own data rather than on either vendor’s claims. Nothing has to be switched off first, and there is no trial clock running while you decide.
